GRAZ CONCERT WRAPS UP "SEMBERIJA DAYS"

GRAZ, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA/ - The "Semberija Days in Austria" event, aimed at strengthening ties between Semberija and Austria, concluded last night with a concert in Graz featuring Đorđe Perić and Dušan Sekulić with his band.

Over six days in Vienna, Tulln and Graz, a series of cultural, artistic and business events were organized, presenting Semberija's cultural heritage, contemporary artistic production, economic potential and local products to Austrian audiences, institutional representatives and the business community.

Head of the Republika Srpska Representative Office in Austria Mladen Filipović said the event was designed to showcase regions of Republika Srpska, adding that after Herzegovina and Krajina, this year's focus was on Semberija.

"We are more than satisfied. We achieved success in culture, folklore and the arts and especially in the economic sphere, where we had scheduled activities with partners from the Austrian agricultural cluster. I believe we will establish direct cooperation with the Bijeljina Fair, and we presented Semberija in the best possible light," Filipović said in a statement to SRNA.

He said the Srbadija choir concert in Vienna and the exhibition in Graz attracted large audiences, tourists and international guests, with Austrians showing particular interest in the exhibition.

BiH Ambassador to Austria Siniša Bencun said the event featured a rich program and an international repertoire that impressed both local and Austrian audiences.

"I can truly be happy and satisfied with the way 'Semberija Days in Austria' concluded. The task and challenge now is to prepare a new and even better program next year for another one of our regions," Bencun said.

The event was organized by the Republika Srpska Representative Office in Austria, the BiH Embassy in Austria and the Semberija Cultural Center in Bijeljina.
