GENERAL REMAINS IN SERIOUS CONDITION, MEDICAL RECORDS ARRIVE FROM THE HAGUE

BELGRADE, APRIL 17 /SRNA/ – Ratko Mladić remains in very poor condition following a stroke in the detention hospital, and medical documentation has also arrived from The Hague, his son Darko Mladić told SRNA.

Darko Mladić said that the defense team and the family have received the Hague medical records and that doctors are now reviewing them.

General Ratko Mladić suffered a mild stroke last Friday, April 10, and the defense and family had been awaiting medical documentation from the Hague Tribunal's health service, as well as medical findings to clarify what exactly happened.

Mladić has suffered multiple strokes, has serious cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, neurological damage and kidney problems. He has been hospitalized several times and undergone various medical and therapeutic procedures, including heart and leg surgeries.

The former commander of the Main Staff of the Republika Srpska Army has been in the detention hospital in The Hague since 2024, where he is receiving palliative care due to his serious health condition.

Mladić was arrested on May 26, 2011, in the village of Lazarevo near Zrenjanin, Serbia.
