BELGRADE, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ - General Ratko Mladić will be remembered as a great Serbian military commander who was responsible for defending the Serb people against the combined aggression of NATO, radical Islamism and resurgent Croatian clerical fascism, said Živadin Jovanović, president of the Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals.

Jovanović said General Mladić made an invaluable contribution to the defense and recognition of Republika Srpska, as a guarantor of the Serb people's survival, security, and equality, and that he became a historical figure during his lifetime.

“Mladić will be remembered as a great Serbian military commander who was responsible for defending the Serbian people against the combined aggression of NATO, radical Islamism, led by Alija Izetbegović, the author of the Islamic Declaration and a partner of Bin Laden’s terrorist Al Qaeda, as well as resurgent Croatian clerical fascism,” he said.

According to him, responsibility for General Mladić’s premature death lies with those who denied him appropriate treatment and medical care and rejected his request to be treated in Serbia, disregarding standards of humane treatment and conduct toward a critically ill person.

“Responsibility also lies with leaders who are lackeys of foreign interests, who deprived General Mladić of his freedom and shamefully handed him over to an anti-Serb entity, violating the country’s Constitution and trampling on the will and dignity of the overwhelming majority of the Serbian people,” Jovanović said.

He concluded that General Mladić was a great patriot, a brave military commander and a man whose legacy would be properly assessed in the new circumstances to come, without prejudice, dictates or the imposition of geopolitical stereotypes.
