BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 5 /SRNA/ - A former member of the terrorist KLA was arrested at the Batrovci border crossing on suspicion of committing war crimes against civilians, Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić said.
Dačić stated that M.L. is suspected, as a member of the so-called KLA – Dukagjin Operational Zone, of having undergone selective training in 1998 and 1999, and subsequently participating in terrorist attacks targeting members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MIA/ of Serbia and the Yugoslav Army.
The arrested individual is suspected, as a member of a group commanded by Ramush Haradinaj, of participating in the kidnapping and massacre of police officers.
Dačić stated that the suspect has been ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office along with a criminal charge.
The suspect was arrested by members of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate, War Crimes Investigation Service, in cooperation with the BIA /Serbian Intelligence Agency/, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
