BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ — Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić has stated today that Serbia firmly defends the Dayton Peace Accords in its entirety, warning that statements by BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez calling for the abolition of Republika Srpska, one of BiH's entities, pose a serious threat to the country's constitutional order and stability.
Đurić said Helez had publicly called for the abolition of an entity guaranteed by the Dayton Peace Accords.
"Such language from an official responsible for the armed forces is particularly dangerous. It calls the constitutional order into question, fuels fear and risks further escalation. His statement must be clarified urgently," Đurić said in a post on X.
He stressed that the international community must unequivocally reject any threat to peace, stability and the order established by the Dayton Agreement, regardless of where it comes from.
BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez has called for the abolition of Republika Srpska.
"I call on the international community to withdraw its signature from the creation of this genocidal para-state entity, and we know what to do after that," Helez stated.
