BELGRADE, AUGUST 17 /SRNA/ - Serbia's top tennis player Novak Đoković said he hopes to end his tennis career at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with the Serbian flag on his shoulders.

Speaking about the documentary "The Wolf in Winter," Đoković revealed that he chose the title because he believes it reflects resilience and a strong spirit that never gives up.

"Under the most difficult circumstances, when you feel that everything is against you and that you are not going to succeed, somehow you find inner strength and self-confidence that helps you get through difficult moments," Đoković said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Sport.

He believes the documentary's title reflects his childhood and the way he grew up.

"I grew up in the mountains and spent a lot of time there, both in summer and winter. I love winter, and when I was younger, I used to ski. So, for me, it has a special meaning; it is authentic and symbolic of me and my life," Đoković said.

He said the intention was not to present the best moments and achievements of his career in the documentary.

"Life has many ups and downs. The idea that Jason Hehir, the director, and I had together was to show reality. He has a great ability to portray life in a more personal way, especially when it comes to athletes," Đoković said.

He said that the film is 90 minutes long and that it was difficult to portray an entire life, both on and off the court, within that format.

When asked how much winning the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris had helped him move forward, Djokovic said it was the most important achievement of his career at that point, especially given the circumstances.

"I was 37 when I won the gold medal, and it was probably my last chance to win it, at my fifth Olympic Games... I won bronze in Beijing a long time ago, in 2008, and I was close at every subsequent Games, but I was never ready to reach the final and fight for gold," Đoković said.

When asked what the young Novak would be proud of today, Djokovic said he had dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player, winning Wimbledon and becoming the world No. 1.

"But I think that the Novak of that time could never have imagined that those things would actually happen. I think he would be very happy, proud and emotional, but he would also be very grateful, very much so, for all the experiences, both good and bad, that we tried to share through the film as well," Đoković said.

He added at the end that he had no regrets, saying that life is full of experiences and circumstances that happen for a reason.

"So, I wouldn't change anything," Đoković said.
