BELGRADE, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ – By participating in the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk and meeting with world leaders on the sidelines of the event, President Milorad Dodik has confirmed that he is successfully performing his state duties by representing Republika Srpska’s positions in the international arena and protecting its interests, political analyst Stevica Deđanski told SRNA.
Commenting on Dodik’s meetings with Russian and Hungarian foreign ministers Sergey Lavrov and Peter Szijjarto, as well as with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Deđanski emphasized that good relations with Russia, Hungary, Belarus, and BRICS state members provide Dodik with greater maneuvering space in discussions with the West.
“This doesn’t mean that relations with the West should be neglected or that solutions to arising issues shouldn’t be sought through dialogue with them. If a statesman manages to achieve that balance, it will be a success for the nation,” Deđanski stressed.
He believes that it is crucial for the president, as the person holding the greatest political power and responsibility, to do everything in the interest of the people he represents.
According to him, Dodik is doing that quite well, and it is evident that Russia recognizes it, given that its officials meet with him frequently at such a high level.
At the conference in Minsk, President Dodik stated that Republika Srpska believes in peace and dialogue and chooses cooperation.
He emphasized that Srpska maintains its sincere friendship with Russia while also developing relations with China and many countries across the Eurasian region.
