CVIJANOVIĆ CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON SERBS IN CROATIA; CALLS EU’S SILENCE SHAMEFUL

EAST SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 9 /SRNA/ – The Serb BiH Presidency member, Željka Cvijanović, strongly condemns the recent attacks on Serbs in Split and Zagreb, stressing that it is shameful for the European Union to remain silent in the face of such incidents occurring in a country that is a full EU member state.

When asked by SRNA to comment on the hate speech, insults, and intimidation faced by the Serb community in Croatia, Cvijanović said that Ustaša slogans and chants are evidently not just remnants of a dark past, but also a part of the present that Croatia refuses to confront.

"That country is obliged to protect the Serbs who, from being a constituent people in Croatia, have become a disenfranchised minority and a target for extremist attacks," Cvijanović stated.
