BUSINESSMAN ILIAN FILIPOV SHOT DEAD

SOFIA, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Bulgarian businessman and Botev Plovdiv football club president Ilian Filipov was shot dead in the city of Plovdiv, local media reported.

Filipov was killed at around 1.00 a.m. at a property in Plovdiv.

Police blocked roads leading into and out of Plovdiv, which lies about 120 kilometers southeast of Sofia.

Filipov owned some of Bulgaria's largest transport and logistics companies and was the majority shareholder in Botev Plovdiv.
