BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - Pastor Mark Burns, spiritual adviser to US President Donald Trump, said that the United States is aware of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the persecution Christians are facing there, and that Trump has taken concrete steps to protect them.

"We are closely monitoring what is happening there. We receive reports every day, and believe me, President Trump does not support this. He is a protector of the Christian community. He is a protector of people’s right to freely practice their faith, and I am very grateful that he has taken concrete steps in that direction," Burns said.

In a video address to the international conference "Belgrade Dialogue: Political Pillars and Economic Bridges - USA-Serbia", organized by the Serbian-American Friendship Congress at the National Assembly, Burns stressed that he believes there is enormous strength in unity.

"I am very grateful to President /Aleksandar/ Vučić and to everything he is doing to strengthen relations between the United States and Serbia, as well as to the wonderful Serbian Patriarch, who welcomed me so warmly, with the love and compassion he shows towards people around the world," Burns said.

He also thanked Serbia for its strong support for Trump, whom he described as the greatest president of our time.

"Your support for him means a great deal to him, it means a great deal to me, but also to the entire world. I look forward to further strengthening relations between our two countries and to seeing how God will continue to bring us together in unity and partnership. I look forward to returning to Serbia so that I can continue spending time with and nurturing fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ, as a spiritual diplomat seeking to bring peace throughout the world," Burns said, RT Balkan reported.
