ŠEHOVAC: GRAFFITI SENDS MESSAGE THAT EVERYTHING WITH SERB PREFIX SHOULD BE FORCED OUT OF SARAJEVO

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MAY 15 /SRNA/ – Writing graffiti and targeting companies from Serbia in Sarajevo city centre sends the message that everything with Serb prefox should be forced out of the city, Goran Šehovac, coordinator of war veterans organisations of the Sarajevo-Romanija region, told SRNA.

"They should no longer claim that Sarajevo is a civic city. That is not true if they allowed this to happen," Šehovac said.

He adds he does not believe the police or politicians do not know who carried out the act, claiming that perpetrators of such vandalism are usually young people paid by politicians.

"They can do whatever they want - paint graffiti, break windows on Serb-owned shops, while and they are close to telling us what styling we are even allowed to have when entering the city," Šehovac said.

Graffiti and red paint appeared on premises of companies from Serbia operating in Sarajevo, marking every shop owned by those companies.

The Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior announced that the graffiti incident has been classified as the criminal offence of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, division, or intolerance.
