MOSTAR, JANUARY 6 /SRNA/ – The Buna and Neretva rivers have overflowed, flooding several settlements in the Mostar area, with water reaching parts of houses, agricultural land, and orchards.
Due to heavy rainfall, homes and facilities have been flooded in the settlements of Žitomislići, Buna, and Malo Polje.
Competent services are on the ground monitoring the situation, and residents are advised to exercise increased caution, particularly in traffic near flooded areas.
There are currently no reports of injuries, while an assessment of material damage will be conducted at a later stage.
The Buna River overflowed its banks last night, flooding a nearby road, while two landslides were recorded during the day in the Mostar neighborhood of Cim. One landslide has led to the closure of the road toward Goranci, while the second, activated in the evening hours, has left eight houses cut off.
The Civil Protection Headquarters of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton /HNK/ has warned citizens and relevant institutions of a real risk of further consequences from heavy rainfall in this canton over the next two days.
