DRVAR, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – The marking of the Day of the Unity of Serbs, Freedom, and the National Flag is of special importance for the Serb people in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/, who are facing attempts to erase their culture and tradition on daily basis, Goran Broćeta, a deputy in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, told SRNA.
Broćeta emphasized that this issue is particularly evident in areas where Serbs have not yet achieved even the basic constitutional provisions of constituent status.
"We live in conditions and circumstances where attempts are made daily to erase the culture and tradition of the Serb people, while something that does not belong to the Serb people is being imposed instead.
That's why displaying the Serb tricolor-flag today in all places where Serbs live and marking the Day of the Unity of Serbs, Freedom, and the National Flag is highly important," said Broćeta.
Drvar is the only municipality in FBiH that marks September 15 – the Day of the Unity of Serbs, Freedom, and the National Flag.
Broćeta called on those in other areas where it is possible to do the same and thereby further support the awakening of national consciousness.
"This holiday further awakens the feeling of belonging, because when you function and live every day with foreign values, over time, through silent assimilation, you completely lose your identity," Broćeta stressed.
