ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JUNE 25 /SRNA/ - SNSD member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Milorad Kojić said that it has become common practice in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ for the police and prosecutors' offices to protect those who seek to intimidate the already small number of Serb returnees in the entity.

"They protect those who, through the desecration of Orthodox cemeteries and religious sites, want the remaining small number of Serbs to disappear from the FBiH," Kojić told SRNA.

Commenting on the shooting at a cross and a former Orthodox cemetery in the village of Zaselje near Travnik, Kojić said that when the police and prosecutors' offices in the FBiH claim they do not know who committed such acts, they are in fact protecting the perpetrators.

"These institutions are protecting policies aimed at exerting pressure on the Serbian Orthodox Church and driving Serbs out of the territory of the FBiH," Kojić said.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Central Bosnia Canton earlier told SRNA that it is handling a case related to the shooting at a cross and a former Orthodox cemetery in the village of Zaselje near Travnik, and the cantonal police stated that they have no operational information regarding the motive behind the incident.

The Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the FBiH has learned that several dozen rounds were fired at an Orthodox cross and cemetery in the Travnik settlement of Zaselje.
