DRVAR, APRIL 16 /SRNA/ – Recent events in the Bihać village of Trubar, where migrants looted several houses owned by Serb returnees and broke into an Orthodox church, are an alarm that has long been on but is being ignored by the authorities, Goran Broćeta, a deputy in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, told SRNA.

He pointed out that Serbs across the FBiH are daily exposed to intimidation, desecration of cemeteries and religious sites, as well as constitutional discrimination to which no one reacts.

"When you think nothing can surprise us anymore, Trubar happens – the looting of several homes of the few remaining Serb returnees and a break-in at the village church. Although we know how much neglect Bihać shows toward the villages that were attached to it from the pre-war municipality of Drvar, we still call on them to take all necessary measures in order to finally resolve these cases and adequately punish the perpetrators," Broćeta said.

He states he will call on the Federal Minister of Interior, Ramo Isak, to get involved in the case and demonstrate his “capability”.

"I will personally call Minister Isak, who often speaks about both his own and the overall capability of the Federal Ministry of Interior, to get involved in this case and prove that ‘capability’," said Broćeta, who is also the head of the Serb People Caucus in the Assembly of Livno Canton.

He adds that Trubar residents still mainly turn to the authorities in Drvar, even though they do not belong to that municipality or the same canton, due to the neglect demonstrated by the Una-Sana Canton authorities.

Around twenty Serb returnees in the village of Trubar spent Easter in fear and uncertainty, as migrants, after an unsuccessful attempt to cross the border into Croatia. broke into the local Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and looted several returnee households.
