CANADAIR AIRCRAFT REQUESTED FROM CROATIA TO FIGHT FIRE ON ČVRSNICA

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ – International assistance and the deployment of two Canadair firefighting aircraft from Croatia have been requested to fight the fire on Mount Čvrsnica and in the inaccessible terrain, the Federal Civil Protection Administration announced.

The fire is located in terrain that is difficult for ground forces to access and is constantly spreading.

It is currently impossible for ground forces to reach the fire, while an Air Tractor aircraft has made 10 sorties and a helicopter 17 sorties in the firefighting effort.

Yesterday, at the Razvale site on Mount Čvrsnica, at an altitude of 1,890 metres, all available firefighting forces from Jablanica and neighbouring cities and municipalities were engaged in fighting the fire.
