AGENCY FIRES EMPLOYEE FROM NEVESINJE OVER POST ABOUT GENERAL MLADIĆ

MOSTAR, SEPTEMBER 2 /SRNA/ - Security company "Sec One" fired Nevesinje resident Milenko Parović from his job in Mostar after he posted a photograph of General Ratko Mladić on social media.

The campaign against Parović began when the Security Guards BiH/News/Job Openings Facebook page called on his employer to take action after he posted the photograph of General Mladić.

Parović told SRNA that he was contacted yesterday and offered a mutual termination of his employment contract because of the social media post.

"I shared a photograph of General Mladić and his late daughter because it moved me as a father, with no intention of insulting anyone’s victims," Parović said, stressing that he did not intend to offend anyone by posting it.

He stressed that a campaign against him followed the post, adding that he had received numerous vile insults and threats.

"They posted my Facebook photo and launched a campaign against me on social media, putting a target on my back. I have messages in which they insult my mother and daughter and curse me with a Chetnik slur. They are also threatening me in the comments," Parović said.

Following a media inquiry, the management of "Sec One" confirmed that Parović was no longer employed by the agency.

"We hereby inform you that Milenko Parović has not been engaged in any work duties at the ‘Sec One’ agency since yesterday. His employment status will end upon the expiry of the legally prescribed 15-day notice period," the management said.

The agency said that it applies high ethical standards in its operations and complies with the laws of BiH, international regulations and decisions of relevant institutions.

The security agency "Sec One" operates throughout BiH, as well as in Republika Srpska, and its majority owners are Mirsad Ćatić and Emir Spahić.
