ACTIVE WILDFIRES IN AREAS OF SANSKI MOST AND BOSANSKO GRAHOVO

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 17 /SRNA/ - Fires in the areas of Sanski Most and Bosansko Grahovo remain active, while high temperatures and strong winds are creating an additional problem by facilitating the rapid spread of the flames.

Firefighters from Sanski Most are currently battling a new fire that broke out in the Zagaja area.

Citizens have been urged to remain on standby and, if necessary, make their resources available to firefighters.

A helicopter belonging to the BiH Armed Forces has also been battling the fire in the Bosansko Grahovo area since the morning, while an air tractor was deployed yesterday, federal media reported.

A large fire in Risovac has affected more than 1,000 hectares of mature forest, and the fire line continues to spread due to strong and shifting winds.
