ZELJKOVIĆ: BENEFITS FOR UNEMPLOYED PARENTS WITH FOUR OR MORE CHILDREN SHOULD RISE WITH MINIMUM WAGE

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - SNSD candidate for the Republika Srpska National Assembly from Electoral Unit 3 Bogoljub Zeljković said that a serious state should not leave family benefits dependent on occasional political decisions, but should regulate them systematically.

"That is why I will propose that the support paid from the Republika Srpska budget to unemployed parents with four or more children be legally linked to the minimum wage. As living standards rise, support for these families should rise as well", Zeljković said in a statement to SRNA.

He noted that Republika Srpska already provides assistance to parents with four or more children, but said he wanted to go a step further and ensure that such support no longer depended on whether someone decided to increase it this year or next.

"Families need security, not uncertainty," Zeljković said.
