BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 5 /SRNA/ - Citizens have once again given a mandate to a policy that refuses to trade the dignity of Republika Srpska for someone else’s approval, said Ana Trišić Babić, director of the Republika Srpska Office for International Cooperation.
"The people have spoken, and that message is much bigger than a single election result. Republika Srpska does not want to be weak, silenced or subservient, with others speaking on its behalf, interpreting its interests and deciding how much of its own voice it is allowed to have," Trišić Babić said.
She pointed out that for years, would-be tutors and Sarajevo’s political “elite” have tried to convince us that obedience is the same as cooperation, that remaining silent is a sign of political maturity, and that any insistence by Republika Srpska on its own constitutional and national rights is somehow a problem.
"Today, citizens said what they think about their `well-intentioned` instructions," Trišić Babić wrote on X.
She stressed that, for this reason, Republika Srpska will continue to speak with its own voice on the international stage.
"Calmly, responsibly, and open to cooperation with everyone, but without any need to ask anyone for permission to represent its own interests. International cooperation makes no sense if you enter into it without having a position of your own. Partnership exists only among those who have the dignity to say what they think and the strength to stand behind who they are.
Elections come and go. Institutions remain. And once again, the people have shown what kind of Republika Srpska they want: one that engages with the world, but does not bow its head before the world. A Republika Srpska that discusses its affairs with the world, rather than standing in line and waiting for a diagnosis and instructions," Trišić Babić stressed.
She said that the Republika Srpska Office for International Cooperation will continue along that path: Republika Srpska will continue to speak with its own voice!
