PARIS, OCTOBER 8 /SRNA/ - The result achieved by the SNSD in the recent general elections in BiH represents an encouraging lesson for all European peoples seeking to free themselves from a supranational, anti-democratic, and hegemonic system, retired French Colonel Jacques Hogard told SRNA.
He said the SNSD’s victory was exceptional, above all because it represented the freely expressed will of the Serb people in BiH.
"Such a convincing result in favor of democracy can only be welcomed. In light of recent developments, such as those in Romania, where the denial of democracy is as blatant as it is scandalous, there is every reason to be satisfied with the election results in BiH," Hogard said.
He stressed that the SNSD’s convincing victory at all levels of government represents a stern warning to Euro-Atlanticists who believed that they had removed SNSD President Milorad Dodik from political life in BiH by unlawfully and unjustly barring him from holding public office.
"The plan devised by three German centers of power that have traditionally been hostile toward the Serbs — Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels, Friedrich Merz in Berlin and Christian Schmidt in Sarajevo — has failed. Dodik remains on the political scene because the SNSD received unequivocal support from Serb voters," Hogard pointed out.
He stressed that these developments, which are of great significance not only for Republika Srpska but for the entire region, have been almost completely overlooked by leading media outlets and Euro-Atlanticist politicians in most Western European countries.
"Those politicians are becoming increasingly alarmed as elections in their countries draw closer, because the public remains committed to national sovereignty and identity — positions that are sharply at odds with efforts to impose technocratic uniformity and erase nations and their distinctiveness in favor of undemocratic supranational federalism with bellicose ambitions directed against the imaginary enemy, Russia," Hogard said.
He stressed that this provides grounds for reasonable optimism, as the SNSD’s election victory may signal the dawn of a “springtime of the peoples” and a renewed strengthening of sovereignty.
While Western European leaders are going to extremes, spending billions of euros and providing military and technological support to prolong the absurd and terrible fratricidal war in Ukraine, Hogard said, it is necessary to return to reason — something the peoples of those same countries also want.
"For this reason, every affirmation and every development that contributes to the genuine restoration of democracy and national sovereignty is of vital importance. The example set by Republika Srpska and the SNSD in recent days represents an encouraging lesson for all European peoples seeking to free themselves from a supranational, anti-democratic and hegemonic system," Hogard said.
He pointed out that the international scene is currently undergoing major upheaval and that the world is leaving behind the unipolar era that followed the Cold War.
"A new era is taking shape. We can call it whatever we want — a multipolar era, the BRICS era, the era of the Global South — but, in my view, we have not quite reached that point yet. There is a transitional phase — a de facto tripolar order that is currently taking shape, comprising the United States, Russia and China," Hogard said.
Colonel Hogard is a former commander of French special forces in Kosovo and Metohija.
