BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 4 /SRNA/ - SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said this evening that the party had achieved an impressive victory in the BiH general elections and described the result as a pledge to the people that it would continue working for their benefit.

Dodik said he was delighted with the scale of the victory.

"I am very glad that the nervousness Savo Minić had is over. I thank all our members," Dodik said.

He said SNSD was a family-oriented party.

According to Dodik, the election result was confirmation of SNSD's policies, which he described as policies of the people.

"These are winning policies and we will not change our political position. This is a pledge and an oath to the people. Everything will continue to be done for the benefit of our people," Dodik said.

He thanked all friends who had helped, particularly on the international stage, singling out U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Had it not been for Trump's magnificent victory, we would not have won now. I also thank Russian President Vladimir Putin, who supported us. I cannot believe we won by such a large margin," Dodik said.

Dodik also thanked SNSD's Election Headquarters, which had introduced a new system of work and new technologies.

"That also contributed to these results," Dodik said.

He thanked outgoing Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan for leading Republika Srpska during a challenging period and contributing to its stability.

Dodik said SNSD remained committed to the Dayton Peace Accords, but in its original rather than revised form.

"I am glad that HDZ candidate Darijana Filipović won the race for Croat member of the BiH Presidency. There is no longer a 2:1 situation. I am glad they do not want to talk to us; they do not have to," Dodik said.

Dodik again thanked citizens for their support.

"Now we are going to do what winners do - celebrate!" Dodik said.
