BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – SNSD leader Milorad Dodik has stated today in Banja Luka that the early presidential election has concluded for the SNSD with the victory of the party's candidate, Siniša Karan, a result confirmed by the Central Election Commission of BiH.
"Last night we were adding up the numbers and impressions. The numbers are the same today, but the impressions are better," Dodik said at a press conference.
He stated that SNSD is accustomed to achieving strong election results, but that this time everyone who supports the opposition also turned out to vote.
"We estimated they could get up to 200,000 votes, and we calculated around 20,000 Bosniak votes as well," Dodik added.
He said SNSD had previously been unfairly deprived of the position of President of Republika Srpska and the delegate seat in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
"A smear campaign has been waged against us for two years. The attempts by Christian Schmidt, anti-Serb elements in Srpska, and Muslims have failed. They have nothing to gloat about now. The conglomerate they formed was serious, and if Donald Trump had not won in the US, we would not have been standing here today as the victors," Dodik stressed.
