BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 25 /SRNA/ - SNSD Deputy Leader Radovan Višković told SRNA that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, with its decision to annul the snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations, has completely delegitimized itself, noting is an attempt to alter the electoral will of Srpska residents.
"However, I do not expect anything spectacular to happen or change in repeat voting, except that the vote difference in favour of Siniša Karan will be even greater," Višković said.
He explained that the CEC, with its latest decisions, is interfering in the electoral process and proving it has come politically biased.
"This must stop, and at the very least, all CEC members should be dismissed, and people who will conduct the electoral process according to the law and the constitution should be elected, if we want to have fair and correct elections in BiH," Višković stated.
Višković emphasized that this is yet another absurd situation in BiH because such things would not happen in any organised country.
"This clearly proves that BiH cannot be called a state. The CEC should only carry out the elections and respect the will of the citizens. However, it has positioned itself in a way that arbitrates in the electoral process. Therefore, this goes beyond normal reason," Višković said.
Višković added that in the CEC's decision to annul the elections at certain polling stations in his local community – Milići, there is no appropriate explanation for the alleged electoral irregularities.
"I think they found it appropriate to see where the vote difference in favour of Karan is greater and to repeat voting in those places in order to create conditions for Branko Blanuša to somehow become president of the Republic, which is absurd," Višković emphasized.
The CEC of BiH made a non-final decision yesterday to annul the snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 constitutencies.
The snap elections were annulled at certain polling stations in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Vlasenica, Zvornik, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gacko, Rudo, Bileća, Milići, and Brčko.
