BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 21 /SRNA/ – The Ensemble of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska performed at the new building of the Tatar State Academic Theatre in Kazan, which was filled on both evenings during the staging of the play Švabica, thereby achieving great success on the international stage.
The National Theatre of Republika Srpska emphasized that the performance in the capital of the Russian republic of Tatarstan – Kazan, was an important moment for promoting the cultural heritage of Srpska.
The ensemble staged this play for two consecutive evenings in the new building of the Tatar State Academic Theatre Galiasgar Kamal, based on the story of the same name by Laza Lazarević, directed by Dušan Petrović.
During both performances, all 770 seats were filled, the National Theatre of Srpska announced.
The National Theatre of Srpska was also the first international theatre to perform in the new building of the Tatar State Academic Theatre.
Director of the National Theatre of Srpska Dijana Grbić said that the guest performance was the result of an agreement between the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik and the leader of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
She expressed hope that the National Theatre of Srpska will soon have the opportunity to host cultural workers from Tatarstan at a similar level, deepening friendly and professional ties.
The performance was also attended by the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan, Irada Hafizyanovna Ayupova, who warmly welcomed the ensemble.
