PART OF "DVD" FILM SHOT IN NOVI GRAD

NOVI GRAD, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - Parts of the feature film "DVD" were shot today at the railway station in Novi Grad.

The film, the directorial debut of Stefan Tomić, follows a father who wants to buy his son a DVD for his birthday as a way of making up for not being there.

His financial situation, life circumstances and everything that happens to him that day make this considerably more difficult.

The film stars Ljubiša Savanović, Nikolina Friganović, Aleksandar Stojković, Zlatan Vidović and Jovo Maksić.

Tomić said that the film crew received strong support from the Republika Srpska Railways, which enabled them to shoot scenes on the Banja Luka-Novi Grad train route.

According to him, the route to Novi Grad was chosen because they liked the railway station in the municipality, which has the appearance of a film set.

"The sequence ends in Novi Grad, where the main character slowly begins his journey home on foot," Tomić said.

He noted that most of the filming was carried out in Gradiška because the setting suited the story, which is set between 2007 and 2008. They also filmed in Banja Luka and Novi Grad.

Tomić said that filming, which began on September 9 and ends tomorrow, was supported by the Republika Srpska Audiovisual Centre.

The film "DVD" is scheduled to premiere around this time next year or earlier.

In addition to Tomić, the film's director of photography is Zoran Pilipović, assistant director is Sonja Savić, production designer is Sara Stjepanović, costume designer is Vladimirka Velaga, producer is Bojan Vujinović, the production company is Kozara Media, while Ivona Bjelić and Monika Milanović are executive producers.
