BELGRADE, JULY 17 /SRNA/ - Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selaković opened the multimedia exhibition "Who Was Marko Kraljević, Anyway?" at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade this evening, describing the folk hero as a "Serbian mirror" reflecting the finest national virtues.
Selaković said that, for this reason, Serbs have an obligation to remember him and other Serbian heroes and to teach their children about them.
He stressed that the aim of the exhibition is not to return to the past, but rather to use the values that emerged from the past as a guide for the future, Tanjug reported.
The director of the Ethnographic Museum, Marko Krstić, said that in the year marking the institution's 125th anniversary, it is a great honour to organise an exhibition that reflects its core mission – preserving cultural identity, traditions and customs, while also presenting them to new generations in a contemporary way.
Visitors will be able to view the exhibition of paintings, explore poetry dedicated to Marko Kraljević and watch animated films until August 31.
