TREBINJE, MAY 4 /SRNA/ – Student of the Jovan Dučić Gymnasium in Trebinje, Marko Sulaver, has won the main prize at the prestigious school Olympiad of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations /MGIMO/, securing direct admission to the university along with a full scholarship.
"In competition with as many as 4,148 participants from around the world, Marko first qualified among 387 finalists, and then advanced to the very top, among the 42 best competitors, placing in approximately the top one percent of the most successful candidates," the Gymnasium stated.
They added that this is not only a major personal achievement, but also a success that proudly represents the school and the city of Trebinje.
The international school Olympiad included multiple stages and required exceptionally broad knowledge of English language and diplomatic fields, including history, geography, sociology, philosophy and contemporary international politics.
Sulaver said the award means a great deal for his education and future professional development.
"It is a special honor for me to have the opportunity to study at a university of world renown," Sulaver said.
He also emphasized the importance of the support he received during his education.
"I am grateful to my family, professors and my school, which played an important role in this success," Sulaver stated.
The Moscow State Institute of International Relations is considered one of the world's most prestigious higher education institutions in the field of diplomacy and international relations. Among its alumni are prominent figures such as Sergey Lavrov, Vassily Nebenzia, Miroslav Lajčak, and Maria Zakharova.
