BANJA LUKA, MAY 12 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Education and Culture Borivoje Golubović emphasized that Serbs have left a mark on , science and society throughout the centuries, while Russian culture has also had a strong influence in Serbian lands.

Golubović said the exhibition "Prominent Serbs in the History of Russia", opened today at the National and University Library of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka as part of the event "Days of Saint Petersburg in Republika Srpska" serves as a reminder of this historical connection.

"The special value of this exhibition lies in the use of modern multimedia formats, presenting historical facts in an accessible way that is vivid and closer to contemporary audiences" Golubović said at the opening ceremony.

Director of the National and Ljilja Petrović Zečić said the exhibition was prepared by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "B.N. Yeltsin Presidential Library" and noted that cooperation between the two libraries has existed since 2017.

"The cooperation is based on the continuous exchange of digitized and scanned materials. We send books and materials related to the Russian people in this region to the Presidential Library, and vice versa", Zečević said.

Maksim Trebilov, deputy director of the education department at the B.N. Yeltsin Presidential Library, stressed the importance of the cooperation, adding that it will be further strengthened in the coming period.

"Today's exhibition is dedicated to prominent Serbs in Russian history from the 15th century to the modern era, including figures such as Pachomius the Logothete, translator, hymnographer, compiler and editor of saints' lives, and Sava Lukič Vladislavić-Raguzinsky, merchant and diplomat", Trebilov said.
