SARAJEVO, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić told SRNA that this caucus will not participate in the conference organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković because it is not a serious professional gathering, but rather a pre-election political pamphlet aimed at promoting a single political agenda.
Reacting to the announced "international" conference titled "The Position of Constituent Peoples and Others in the Institutions of BiH," Vulić reminded that the Dayton Peace Agreement clearly defined the constitutional structure of BiH, the position of the two entities, and the three constituent peoples.
According to her, adhering to the strict letter of the Dayton Peace Agreement is the only way to preserve the stability and constitutional order of BiH.
"However, bearing in mind that Konaković and his political allies have for years advocated for the so-called `spirit of Dayton,` rather than its letter, such attempts to bring up topics that serve an exclusively pre-election purpose under the guise of alleged dialogue are not surprising," emphasized Vulić.
She pointed out that it is clear such initiatives are aimed at questioning the Dayton principles and leading to the gradual majorization of the constituent peoples - primarily the Christian peoples, Serbs, and Croats - within the institutions of BiH.
"The SNSD remains consistent in its stance that there will be no discussions about any redefinition of the Dayton Peace Agreement. BiH can function exclusively based on its letter, and not on arbitrary political interpretations and the concept of the so-called `spirit of Dayton,`" Vulić was categorical.
For this reason, she stated, the SNSD Caucus will not participate in this gathering, nor will it lend legitimacy to political activities that it considers to be part of a pre-election campaign rather than a sincere effort to solve real problems in BiH.
