VAT LAW IMPLEMENTATION RULEBOOK ENTERS INTO FORCE TOMORROW

BANJA LUKA, JULY 7 /SRNA/ - The Rulebook on the Implementation of the VAT Law concerning the purchase of a first property enters into force tomorrow, when applications for VAT refunds on property purchases will also be able to be submitted, representatives of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH said today in Banja Luka at a press conference.

The ITA said that applications are to be submitted according to the property seller's location, at the ITA's regional centres in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Tuzla and Mostar.

"The deadline for submitting applications is the end of the year, and the right to a refund applies to newly built apartments on which VAT has been paid and which were registered in the buyer's name after April 12, 2025," the ITA explained.

The ITA added that buyers are entitled to a refund for a surface area of up to 40 square metres, plus an additional 15 square metres for each household member who does not own property.
