TREBINJE, FEBRUARY 2 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac stated that the practice of registering the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ as state property must immediately stop, and that he will inform all relevant institutions about this issue and demand urgent, concrete solutions.
Košarac discussed the matter today in Trebinje with Dimitrije, the Metropolitan of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, and emphasized that the seizure of the Serbian Orthodox Church’s property must be halted.
“The institutions of Srpska have already taken concrete steps, and our task is to contribute to their efforts to resolve this problem,” Košarac wrote on Instagram.
He also reminded of the increasingly frequent and brutal attacks on Serb returnees in the FBiH, as well as on Orthodox holy sites.
“Now they want to seize our property! We will not allow them to seize our holy sites, our churches, chapels, and cemeteries!” Košarac said.
He emphasized that the Serbian Orthodox Church is the most important part of the Serbian national identity.
“We are firmly and unequivocally committed to preventing all manipulations and deceitful attempts to seize the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church and our holy sites,” Košarac stated.
