TRAGICOMICAL THAT LAGUMDŽIJA, WHO WAS EXPELLED FROM HIS OWN PARTY, IS GIVING ADVICE

BELGRADE, December 27 /SRNA/ – The Ambassador of BiH to Serbia, Aleksandar Vranješ, told SRNA that it sounds somewhat tragicomic that Zlatko Lagumdžija, a man who was expelled from his own party, is handing out advice on who should be future election candidates, who should be appointed where, and who should be removed from the political arena.

Following Lagumdžija’s statement that “Milorad Dodik, Dragan Čović, and Bakir Izetbegović need to be removed from the political arena in BiH for the country to move forward,” Vranješ pointed out that Lagumdžija’s political relevance is best illustrated by the fact that he was first dismissed and then expelled from the party he had headed for years.

“He even expressed expectations from the opposition in Republika Srpska, so who knows, maybe he would fare better among them than he did in the SDP. Jokes aside, who the political leaders of the three constituent peoples in BiH are to be will be decided in elections next year,” Vranješ stressed.

He said that Lagumdžija can give advice only to the Bosniak people on how to vote, but added that he is convinced even that will not help Denis Bećirović, whom Lagumdžija is promoting as a candidate, remain a member of the BiH Presidency next year.

“As a result, by October next year Lagumdžija himself can slowly start packing his bags and ending his diplomatic career, just as inglorious as his career in the SDP was,” Vranješ said.

BiH Ambassador to the UN Zlatko Lagumdžija also told federal media that space is now being created for democratic and progressive forces in BiH to unite, adding that he believes the key battle will be over who will become the new members of the BiH Presidency, and that he considers Denis Bećirović to be the appropriate candidate.
