THE MONEYVAL "GREY LIST" IS NOT AN ADMINISTRATIVE, BUT A SECURITY ISSUE

SARAJEVO, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić said that it is completely wrong to treat the MONEYVAL "grey list" as an ordinary financial issue, given that it concerns the fight against terrorism financing and the credibility of BiH.

"When a Council of Europe body places you on the `grey list,` it sends a message that BiH does not have sufficiently effective mechanisms to prevent the financing of terrorism," Amidžić explained.

He stressed that establishing a register of beneficial owners in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ is therefore not an "administrative matter".

"Today, we do not know whether the beneficial owner of a company, organization, or foundation in the FBiH is Mickey Mouse or Saif al-Adel," the minister wrote on X.

Amidžić concluded that this is not a political issue, but a serious security deficit.
