ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, APRIL 13 /SRNA/ – Deputy President of the Presidency of the Republika Srpska Veterans' Organization /BORS/ Goran Šehovac told SRNA that the Court of BiH does not contribute to reconciliation among peoples and should be abolished, following the annulment of the verdict against former commander of the 43rd Drina Brigade of the so-called Army of BiH, Ramiz Duraković, for crimes against Serb civilians in the Čajniče area.
Šehovac described as shameful the decision of the Appellate Division of the BiH Court to overturn the first-instance verdict sentencing Duraković to three and a half years in prison for crimes committed against Serb civilians in 1993 in the Čajniče area.
“Both the judiciary and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH should have their budgets abolished, as they are doing nothing to establish justice,” Šehovac said.
He stressed that the Republika Srpska Veterans' Organization does not recognize either the Court or the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, claiming that acquittals for crimes against Serbs have become a common practice.
