BARI, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac has announced the possibility of establishing new cooperation with Italy in the field of agriculture, following the successful model of cooperation with Hungary.
Košarac stated that during his meeting with the leadership of the Italian National Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers 'Feder Unacoma', he expressed great hope that this project will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, with special focus on viticulture, dairy farming, and the production of olives and pomegranates.
During his official visit to Bari, Košarac discussed with representatives of “Feder Unacoma” the possibilities for cooperation that would also include Italian institutions such as the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute 'Ciheam' Bari.
He emphasized that this cooperation would be similar to what has already been successfully achieved with Hungary.
“This is an excellent concept that has proven very successful, realized thanks to the friendly relations between the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán,” Košarac stressed.
He added that the Hungarian Government provides strong support to agriculture in Srpska, enabling farmers to purchase Hungarian machinery at favorable prices.
Košarac underlined that a similar model could be established with Italy, which would further strengthen agricultural production in both Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
The Minister noted that all activities will be directed in line with the needs of the relevant institutions of Srpska and the Federation of BiH, as well as agricultural producers, in order to ensure their maximum benefit.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that representatives of the 'Feder Unacoma' organization and the 'Ciheam' Institute will visit Herzegovina in the first quarter of next year to agree on concrete steps and activities for the implementation of this project, Košarac posted on Instagram.
