OSCE: THREATENING GRAFFITI AGAINST SERBS IS UNACCEPTABLE, INVESTIGATION MUST BE LAUNCHED URGENTLY

SARAJEVO, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ - The OSCE Mission to BiH told SRNA that actions such as threatening graffiti against Serbs at the Armed Forces barracks in Pazarić are unacceptable and called for an urgent and thorough investigation into all incidents of this kind.

The OSCE Mission to BiH strongly condemned any form of threats, hate speech, or intimidation.

"Such actions are unacceptable. They create mistrust and undermine the foundations of a safe environment for everyone," the Mission stated in a written response to SRNA regarding the graffiti reading "Death to Serbs, Bosnia to the Bosniaks" recently sprayed on the Pazarić barracks.

The Mission called for an urgent investigation to ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.

"Building a peaceful and inclusive society requires the consistent commitment of all institutions and individuals to uphold mutual respect, dignity, equality, and the rule of law," the OSCE stated.

Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Aleksandar Goganović, filed a criminal complaint with the BiH Prosecutor's Office against unknown individuals for the offensive graffiti on the Pazarić barracks and emphasized that he expects the case to be resolved.

Goganović emphasized that the graffiti constitutes a public incitement of national, racial, or religious hatred, discord, or intolerance among the constituent peoples.

Graffiti bearing the message: "Death to Serbs, Bosnia to Bosniaks" appeared three days ago at the training ground of the Basic Training Center in Pazarić.
