EAST SARAJEVO, AUGUST 1 /SRNA/ - The head of the Serb People Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sredoje Nović told SRNA that law and justice were definitely buried today in BiH, by upholding the first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.

Commenting on a decision of the Appellate Division Panel of the Court of BiH to confirm the verdict against Dodik, Nović said that the decision is more than shameful for a democratic country.

"If there was even a minimum of law and justice and if the judges who deliberated in the second-instance proceedings had shown a little professionalism, they would have passed a completely acquittal verdict," emphasized Nović.

He pointed out that this verdict will complicate the already difficult political relations in BiH, and added that it is absurd to expect BiH to enter the EU with such a judiciary and such judges.

The Appellate Division Panel of the Court of BiH upheld the first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, the President's lawyer Goran Bubić told SRNA.

President Dodik was sentenced in the first instance to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity, for "disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt".
