NO PLACE FOR SILAJDŽIĆ IN JOINT THEORY ON DIPLOMACY DEVELOPMENT IN BiH

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – Željko Samardžija, BiH Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told SRNA that people such as Haris Silajdžić and Muhamed Šaćirbegović, who spread lies about Serbs, have no place in a joint theory on diplomacy development in BiH, because such a theory can only be a product of post-Dayton BiH if it is agreed upon by representatives of the three constituent peoples.

"To begin with, it would be desirable for them to first reach agreement within the Bosniak political community, because it is obvious that Turković /Bisera, former Foreign Minister in the Council of Ministers/ and Konaković /Elmedin, the current minister/ are trying to appropriate this material, primarily glorifying their own roles and contributions to the subject, even though the results of their work have been minor and largely anti-Serb," Samardžija stressed, referring to the so-called monograph of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers.

Samardžija noted that the project had been unacceptable to Serb officials from the idea itself, and that Ana Trišić Babić, who was then Deputy Foreign Minister, refused to participate in the working group because of the terminology used in the monograph itself, which covered the 1992–1995 wartime period.

"During that period, the foreign ministers were Haris Silajdžić and Muhamed Šaćirbegović, who made and spread false claims about the suffering of only one side in the war, thereby seeking to demonize Republika Srpska," Samardžija said.

He recalled that Silajdžić was never held accountable for what lies and disinformation presented at the UN Security Council General Assembly in late September 1992, concerning the claim that Serbs had allegedly killed 300,000 Muslims by that point.
