SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 5 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, stated that the new border crossing in Gradiška is a priority for foreign trade, as it is the most frequently used.
Košarac met with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce system to discuss the current issue regarding the opening of a new border crossing in Gradiška.
He warned about the irresponsible behavior of the FBiH members of the Managing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, who, for unexplained reasons, have blocked the opening of the border crossing in Gradiška.
"We have also noted that there is a clear delay on the part of Croatia, which is not acting promptly and is dragging out the fulfillment of all necessary conditions for the smooth operation of the new border crossing in Gradiška," emphasized Košarac, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
Data show that 90 percent of goods traffic passes through this border crossing, which records 120,000 entries annually.
"We will not allow domestic entrepreneurs to suffer due to irresponsibility, unacceptable sabotage, and blockages. Therefore, we have agreed to hold a joint meeting with all relevant domestic institutions as soon as possible, where we will review all problems and challenges related to border crossings, with a special focus on their categorization," Košarac stated.
He also supported the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce system to bring this matter to the attention of the European Commission.
