MILIĆ APPEALED TO POLITICAL ACTORS OUTSIDE DISTRICT NOT TO IMPROVE THEIR RATINGS BY EXPLOITING THE ISSUE OF BRČKO’S STATUS

BRČKO, APRIL 27 /SRNA/ - The Mayor of Brčko, Siniša Milić, appealed to all political actors outside the district not to improve their ratings by raising the issue of the status of Brčko District or by bringing this issue into the context of resolving the political and constitutional crisis at the level of BiH.

Milić emphasized that this is not in the interest of any nation or citizen in Brčko District.

"The status of the district is unquestionable, established by the Constitution of BiH through regular procedure. Moreover, based on its own experiences and the cooperation of various political entities, including those who are deeply at odds at other levels of government, Brčko District could even help overcome the political crisis in BiH and serve as a stabilizing factor," Milić said.

He believes that, to start with, the most important thing is to renew the dialogue between key political actors, and that the ideal place for this is Brčko District.

While noting that he does not underestimate the significance of the SDA's provocation regarding the district's status, Milić pointed out on his Facebook profile that numerous media outlets had requested his reaction to the SDA Main Board’s conclusion regarding Brčko's status, but he believes there is no need for any comment.

At a session of the SDA Main Board on Friday, April 25, a request was made for a final decision by which the Brčko District Arbitration Tribunal would assign Brčko to the FBiH.
