MAZALICA TO KOS: DON'T DEMAND THAT WE RESPECT WHAT YOU YOURSELF DON'T RESPECT!

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska has not done anything unconstitutional, and it insists only on the strict implementation of the BiH Constitution, specifically Annex 4 of the Dayton Agreement, said the Head of the SNSD caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Srđan Mazalica.

"If Marta Kos and certain international representatives consider the decisions imposed by Christian Schmidt and previous high representatives as the 'Constitution,' then yes – we have done many unconstitutional things, and we are yet to do more.

For us, the only valid Constitution is the one written in Dayton, so please show us where we have violated it. When you talk about the rule of law, what kind of 'rule-of-law state' is it in which a colonizer has the final word, and the so-called 'independent' judiciary rules against everyone who does not comply with their decisions?" Mazalica told SRNA, commenting on Kos’ statement that the main problem in BiH is "secessionism from Republika Srpska."

Regarding Kos’ call to respect the decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court, Mazalica asked whether she is aware that this very court stated 15 years ago that the appointment of a High Representative requires approval from the UN Security Council.

"Schmidt never obtained that approval. Do not ask us to respect what you yourselves do not respect," Mazalica stated.

He also asked Kos whether she is aware that a judge of the Constitutional Court, despite having reached the age of 70, continued to hold that position, even though the Constitution clearly sets an upper age limit.

"If the Constitution is being violated in the very institution that is supposed to protect it the most, how can we accept their lectures on the rule of law? If you already support Schmidt’s unconstitutional actions and so much want good for this country and its peoples, then ask him to also impose the necessary EU laws and acquis, so that we too may finally see the light.

Allow us at least enough dignity to say all of this publicly, while you continue to pretend not to see what the UN Charter prohibits – international tutelage over a UN member, which BiH is, or support us in our efforts to suspend BiH from membership in that organization until it regains full sovereignty," Mazalica emphasized.
