STRASBOURG, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ - Thierry Marijani, the member of European Parliament from France, says the EU is demonstrating the death of democracy through the examples of National Rally Leader Marine Le Pen and Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, who were politically convicted.
Mariani pointed out that the democratically elected president of Republika Srpska was sentenced to one year in prison and six years of ban on engaging in politics in a political trial controlled from abroad.
"Republika Srpska is being judicially and politically attacked through him," Mariani said in an address to the European Parliament, which he broadcast on X.
He has said that the BiH judiciary is no longer independent, but is an instrument of repression in the hands of Sarajevo operating under the pressure of Christian Schmidt, who has been impersonating the colonial governor who annuls laws and violates the will of the people expressed in the elections.
"It is obvious that Brussels allows such an orchestrated authoritarian farce to take place in the presence of the legitimately elected president. It proves that its outrage is selective, that it tramples on the right of the people to self-determination, especially the Serbs' right. Republika Srpska and its people do not deserve humiliation, but respect," Mariani said.
He has pointed out that the EU is demonstrating the democratic death of Europe from Paris to Bucharest, via Republika Srpska.
"The unjust and totalitarian conviction of Marine Le Pen is unfortunately reminiscent of the court judgement against Milorad Dodik," said Mariani.
