LAGUMDŽIJA HAS STARTED PRE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN FOR BEĆIROVIĆ

STUTTGART, DECEMBER 27 /SRNA/ – The Consul General of BiH in Stuttgart, Vera Sajić, told SRNA that the BiH Ambassador to the UN, Zlatko Lagumdžija, has already begun a pre-election campaign for the BiH Presidency candidate Denis Bećirović, emphasizing that this is not his role.

“Ambassadors do not call on voters or do PR for particular individuals,” Sajić stated, reacting to Lagumdžija’s comment that Milorad Dodik, Dragan Čović, and Bakir Izetbegović should be removed from the political arena in BiH for the country to move forward.

She has noted that Lagumdžija cannot impose his views on the Bosniak electorate, certainly not on the Croat or Serb electorates.

“The fact that he supports Bećirović does not mean that all Bosniaks think the same way,” Sajić said.

Regarding who Serbs and Croats will vote for, Sajić said that Lagumdžija would certainly not be the one to decide.

“Imagine if a colleague ambassador from the Serb community made such statements and called on citizens of the Federation of BiH to vote for one political figure over another - how would that be characterized?” Sajić emphasized.
