SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 7 /SRNA/ - Member of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH Zijad Krnjić had the most expensive election campaign in terms of the damage caused to the economy because he prevented the adoption of the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the Indirect Taxation Authority, with transport companies bearing the greatest cost, Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić said.
Amidžić said that Krnjić had been on one of the electoral lists and that, if he won that mandate, it would be the most expensive mandate in BiH in terms of the damage he had caused.
"The people who have transport companies paid the highest price because of the long waits, especially under conditions where drivers can stay in the EU for only 90 days," Amidžić told reporters in Sarajevo.
He said that, to the best of his knowledge, the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska had filed a criminal complaint against Krnjić over all the waiting times and the slowdown in transport resulting from his objections to the adoption of the Rulebook, but he could not specify the amount cited in the complaint.
He noted that the Rulebook had been adopted today, to the satisfaction of all those using the border crossings in Gradiška.
Noting that the Rulebook had also created the prerequisites for opening a second border crossing at Rača, Amidžić added that Presidents Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić had agreed that it would open on October 15.
"These are the policies of us from Republika Srpska, and we are not giving up on those policies. And as you can see, when you are principled, the people recognize that and always reward it," Amidžić concluded.
Krnjić, an expert representing the FBiH Government, did not attend today's session of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority and had voted several times against amendments to the Rulebook. Krnjić's mandate expired in early September.
