KOVAČEVIĆ: THE CENTRAL BANK HAS BECOME CHRISTIAN SCHMIDT'S BANK

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 6 /SRNA/ - The spokesperson of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats /SNSD/ Radovan Kovačević said that providing Christian Schmidt with the data on funds intended for the SNSD and United Srpska parties proves that the Central Bank has now become the bank of Christian Schmidt, rather than the Central Bank of BiH and its residents, which is bank’s shameful behaviour.

"All institutions and bodies in BiH should be acting in accordance with the laws, the Constitution of BiH and the decisions made by local authorities. Christian Schmidt has no place here – not in the Constitution, not in the laws. So, the Central Bank's actions are nothing but an absolute disgrace," Kovačević told Glas Srpske.

He has emphasized that it is also disgraceful for commercial banks to follow Christian Schmidt's instructions.

"It is shameful that such an account even exists in the Central Bank. It is shameful that there are any funds in it, and it is shameful that the Central Bank refuses to inform the public about all this in accordance with legal regulations and its obligations. All in all, this is a disgrace for BiH," said Kovačević.

He adds that all of this demonstrates that BiH is not a sovereign country, nor one that can be compared to any other state, but rather a classical colony currently governed by decisions of colonial administrators.

Christian Schmidt previously issued a decision banning the financing of the SNSD and United Srpska from the budget, ordering the Central Bank of BiH to open a special account to which those funds would be redirected from commercial banks.
