KOŠARAC: APPALLED BY ATTEMPTS TO INSULT JASENOVAC AND DONJA GRADINA VICTIMS

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MARCH 29 /SRNA/ – Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac has stated that he was appalled by attempts by Bosniak political representatives to insult, minimize, and relativize Serbian, Jewish, and Roma victims killed in Jasenovac and Donja Gradina.

Košarac stressed that the genocide against Serbs, Jews, and Roma is part of a human tragedy and one of the darkest chapters of modern civilization.

"Unfortunately, Srebrenica Memorial Center Director Emir Suljagić is neither the first nor the only one seeking to reduce the truth about Jasenovac to political competition, attacking Christianity and spreading false narratives and myths about events during the past war in BiH," Košarac wrote on Instagram.

According to him, there are now attempts to dictate who is allowed to pay tribute to innocent victims, thereby undermining the commemoration in Jasenovac.

"It is disgraceful to use the memory of the victims as a political tool, humiliating our victims. We will not allow the historical truth about the suffering of the Serbian, Jewish, and Roma peoples in Jasenovac and Donja Gradina to be desecrated," Košarac said.
