KARAN: MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ORGANISATION UNDER BOSNIAK AUTHORITIES' PROTECTION

BELGRADE, MARCH 31 /SRNA/ – Former Counterintelligence Service officer Ljuban Karan told SRNA that the presence of a large number of Islamic extremists in BiH is evident, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood organisation, which has been under the protection of Bosniak authorities since the war.

Karan pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood organisation has become a safe house for Islamic extremists who were very active during the past war in BiH.

He stated that security services in BiH are not dealing with it, nor do they treat it as a threat, while Republika Srpska officials and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, who is very familiar with the situation, know why they are requesting that the Muslim Brotherhood be declared a terrorist organisation.

"They have recognised a certain type of danger, especially in instable situations that are constantly encouraged from Sarajevo," said Karan, a former JNA counterintelligence officer.

He emphasized that BiH must recognize the Muslim Brotherhood as an extremist organisation and that someone must take responsibility for it, especially in light of developments in the Middle East when "sleepers" awaken and extremist groups receive orders to carry out terrorist actions.

Karan recalled that during the 1990s conflicts in BiH there were extreme Wahhabis, as well as Islamists from various structures – Shiites from Iran and Sunnis from the Muslim Brotherhood.
