BANJA LUKA, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik stated that after 30 years, the formal function of the High Representative should be abolished, and that he supports the policy of the new American administration that decisions must be in the hands of the people, that is, the representatives they have elected.
Regarding the new State Department report stating that the era of nation-building in the Balkans is ending and that it wants to empower domestic leaders to solve their own problems, Dodik pointed out that this is very important and encouraging.
"I have nothing to say other than to support the policy which says that decisions must be in the hands of the people, that is, their democratically elected representatives. This is truly something new. That is how it is done," Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.
This, he added, is seen through the removal of Christian Schmidt, who should not have even come to this region.
"He should return all the money he received because he was not legally elected. We will do everything to unmask this. We will not give up and we will continue to deal with the issue of his abuses, illegalities, and everything else," emphasized Dodik.
He believes it is completely normal to abolish the formal function of the High Representative, emphasizing how the OHR had imposed itself. He noted that the Dayton Agreement only recognizes the High Representative, and not the OHR.
"The OHR does not exist; it is an auxiliary office of the High Representative. However, over the last 30 years, they have tried to impose themselves as some important official body, which it is not," said Dodik.
Dodik said that Schmidt was illegal because he was not even elected as prescribed, and if they continue to be chosen in the same way, it will be equally unacceptable for Republika Srpska, unless there is a consensus among Russia, China, the United States of America, and Srpska.
"The fact that they said all interested parties will be asked about a potential new one is encouraging. It doesn't matter who it will be; what is important is that they have a limited mandate, that the Bonn powers they invented disappear, and when the date of their appointment expires, that the Office of the High Representative is shut down, and then there is no OHR either," says Dodik.
The narrative about how this should be amended is completely unacceptable to Dodik, as is the survival of the High Representative in BiH. "It is unacceptable because it speaks to the possibility of abuse," Dodik explained.
He stated that he supports the idea of electing a new name for a two-year period, explicitly stating that their mandate ends on a specific date.
He recalled how American President Donald Trump said back during the election campaign that they would stop building states, which was always read here as referring to the satrapy of BiH, and that they would stop building nations, meaning they will not insist on Bosniaks or Bosnians.
"As you can see, all of that has stopped since Trump took power in America. Today it is very clear and visible, the official stance of the United States of America aims precisely at stopping the financing of various non-governmental organizations that were supposed to build these states," Dodik said.
He noted that USAID has almost quieted down its operations here, emphasizing that remnants of the globalist order remain in Brussels, which are still trying to maintain the old attitude toward internal issues.
