SARAJEVO, MAY 12 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Aleksandar Goganović, told SRNA that the Day of the Army of Republika Srpska and the Day of the 3rd Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment was commemorated in an honorable and dignified manner, and that no one can prohibit the marking of important dates from Serbian tradition.

Goganović said he did not wish to comment on statements made by Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, "regarding the alleged ban on entry for top officials of Republika Srpska into the Kozara Barracks in Banja Luka," emphasizing that today is a day of remembrance for the best Serb sons who laid down their lives as the foundation of Republika Srpska.

“We owe it to them that we live in freedom today. As long as I am the Deputy Minister of Defense, no one will prohibit members of the Serb people in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces from commemorating key dates from our tradition, because that right is guaranteed by the Law on Defense—just as the existence of Republika Srpska is guaranteed by the Dayton Peace Accords,” Goganović stated.
